The Jefri Bolkiah Engineering College in Kuala Belait yesterday launched a two-day programme recruiting Bruneians as seafarers on board Brunei Darussalam domestic vessels.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications Pehin Dato Paduka Hj Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Abu Bakar launched it. Belait Shipping Sdn Bhd answered questions on its experiences while living in a ship. A visit session and exhibition in the afternoon gave participants a closer look on job opportunities offered by the shipping management to seafarers.

The exhibition is open to the public until today. …
