THE embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in Lusaka is not pleased with what it calls unfriendly statements from some Zambian officials.

A release from the cultural service of the DRC embassy says the statement attributed to Luapula Province Minister Justin Chilufya who urged Zambians not sell their maize to DRC gave a bad and false impression of the relations between Zambia and the DRC.

"It is not a secret that in the region, the DRC constitutes one of the biggest commercial partners for Zambia with more than 55 million of the consumers. Export Board of Zambia can confirm that.
