SHANGHAI, June 1 Asia Pulse - International petrochemical giant Dow Chemical has recently located its regional headquarters in Shanghai in order to enhance its presence in China's interior regions as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan.
In an ambitious plan to expand business in China, the company will invest 83 million yuan (about US$10 million) to build a second latex production line in its joint venture in Zhangjiagang city, eastern Jiangsu Province.
The new production line, set to become operational in the second half of 2005, will nearly double the annual production capacity of the Dow-Zhangjiagang Latex Plant to 49,000 tons from the present 24,900 tons, says James D. McIlvenny, president of Dow Chemical's Greater China Region.
