TOKYO, June 1 Asia Pulse - The Foreign and Justice ministries, the National Police Agency, and the Public Security Investigation Agency will step up their efforts to tighten immigration controls following the al-Qaida-linked attack targeting foreigners in Saudi Arabia.
"There is a possibility that al-Qaida members are still hiding in Japan," said Takashi Oizumi, director general of the Public Security Investigation Agency. Speaking to the lower house's special committee on Iraq reconstruction, Oizumi stressed that his organization is doing its utmost to collect information following the discovery of suspected al-Qaida network activities inside Japan.
