THE STAR
- YTL Power International Bhd agreed yesterday to acquire a 35 per cent stake and loan stocks in the second largest independent power producer (IPP) in Indonesia in a deal valued at US$139.4mil (RM529.7mil). YTL will also acquire 100 per cent equity in the operator of the power station for US$3.6mil.
- POS Malaysia & Services Holdings Bhd surprised with a surge in pre-tax profit to RM38.1mil for the first quarter ended March 31 from RM18.9mil in the equivalent period of 2003.
- IGB Corp Bhd will be looking to unlock the value of other assets under the group after the successful listing of Mid Valley City Sdn Bhd via the reverse takeover of main board-listed Kris Components Bhd.
- GIC Real Estate Pte Ltd (GIC RE), the real estate investment arm of Singapore Government Investment Corp, is to restart the Johor Baru City Square mall and condominium project.
