SEOUL, June 1 Asia Pulse - The government will review a supplementary budget option that is to focus on stabilizing the livelihood of ordinary people and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), sources at the Ministry of Finance and Economy said Tuesday.
Insiders said Finance and Economy Minister Lee Hun-jai will chair a closed-door meeting at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae to determine if and how much more money will be needed to bolster the sluggish domestic economy.
Without going into details, government experts said that focus would be put on helping the people and business sectors hardest hit by weak consumer spending. They also said the amount the government will request from parliament has yet to be determined.
