A SAM Electronics' Nacos 35-4 integrated navigation system has been installed on the QE2, until recently Cunard's flagship for more than 30 years, as part of a major three-week refurbishment project completed in May by Lloyd Werft, Bremerhaven.
The system, which replaces an earlier navigation assembly, comprises three Chartradar 1000 units each combining radar and electronic charting in addition to integrated track control and conning functions, a Trackpilot, and two Chartpilot 9330 for provision of planning, track and map data.
