BEWARE the injured golfer!

It's amazing how often a golfer with an injury or an illness comes up trumps against theodds, and that was the case at Galway Bay Golf Resort last Monday.

The occasion was the Western Region Qualifier of the prestigious Mercedes BenzIrishIndependent Executive Trophy, and the golfer in question was Brendan Dolan, captain of the Gort team which won the prize for leading qualifiers.

Brendan caught his left thumb in a door and it was quite a painful injury, so he had to gettreatment on the morning of the golf day at Galway Bay.
