(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
DAVAO CITY-Four persons, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen over the weekend here, in what could be a resurgence of vigilante-style killings.
The latest victim was a "drug surrenderer" who was among the more than a thousand persons who voluntarily surrendered to the Davao City Police Office for their involvement in illegal drugs in July last year.
Rene Arab was playing cards with friends Saturday night in Barangay Panacan when a gunman approached him and shot him in the head.
The suspect immediately boarded a waiting getaway motorcycle.
Police said Arab allegedly returned to his old vice and was again placed in the police watch list.
