(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
Byline: Ramon Tulfo
CHIEF Supt. Pedro Bulaong, director of the Western Police District that covers Manila, has allegedly been spreading the word that he's the next chief of the National Capital Region Police Office, and that he's also slated for the Philippine National Police's highest post.
The report is incredible as Bulaong is not the type who brags. He knows his limitations.
But if the report that he's really bragging is true, Bulaong should be told that he's not yet ripe for a higher position. In fact, he should not continue to hold the WPD post any longer.
Under Bulaong's watch, there are many unsolved crimes in Manila. One such unsolved case is the robbery-slaying of a nursing student on General Solano Street, practically a stone's throw away from the WPD headquarters. The young woman was about to enter her apartment when some men held her up and stabbed her when she resisted.
Another unsolved case is the stabbing to death of another coed inside a bus during a holdup in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
