CITY OF SAN FERNANDO-A month before elected officials take their oaths of office on June 30, squabbles have broken out at the Pampanga provincial capitol over who shall comprise the new teams of advisers of governor-elect Mark Lapid and senator-elect Manuel "Lito" Lapid.
In the camp of the 25-year-old Mark, the youngest governor ever elected in the country, capitol sources said at least two contractors have been forcing their way into Mark's group of advisers or are wrestling power from his long-time adviser and campaign manager Fidel Arcenas.
Two contractors known to be close to or often seen with the Lapids during the campaign period were Jun Castro and Bernie Cruz.
It was not immediately known if these two men actually gave election contributions to the young Lapid. He has not yet submitted his statement of contributions and expenditures, a check with the Commission on Elections showed.
The father and son left for the United States last week and could not be reached for comments.
