THE PHILIPPINE Basketball Association is hoping to get a team made up of collegiate and professional players in the United States to play and complete the foreign challenge in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Fiesta Conference.
PBA operations chief Rickie Santos yesterday said the league is still waiting for word from the All-American team, said to be a motley mix of NCAA Division I and former NBA players, through player-agent Danny Espiritu.
Espiritu said prospects appear bright that the team might fly in before June 16, the first playdate of the quarterfinals.
A local sponsor is ready to shoulder the expenses of the US team, said Espiritu.
