The country's foremost amateur starts his hunt for a first-ever RP Amateur Golf championship today, perhaps thankful that he won't be getting all the attention from the gallery. For sure, everyone will be taking a look at Marvin Dumandan following his impressive two-tournament stint in Malaysia last week.
Dumandan, who tees off in the 7:54 a.m. flight at the tough Villamor layout, is fresh off a runner-up finish in the HLA Saujana Amateur Open and a sixth place romp in the Malaysian Amateur. He looms as the logical pick to crowd Pagunsan for top honors in the six-day event.
