THE COMMISSION on Elections yesterday set aside a resolution calling for the proclamation of winning Isabela gubernatorial candidate Grace Padaca. Instead, the Comelec will hold a hearing on June 4 to decide the case of terrorism filed against Padaca by incumbent Isabela Gov. Faustino Dy.
According to Election Commissioner Resurreccion Borra, the poll body has to settle all the issues regarding Dy's allegations that Padaca won because of terrorism, the support of the rebel New People's Army and massive cheating.
These allegations became the basis for the temporary restraining order (TRO) issued two weeks ago by the Comelec's First Division headed by Commissioner Rufino Javier.
Javier was a former congressman who served in the 9th and 10th Congresses with Dy.
