SAYING SHE was "sick and tired of being a punching bag," the "other woman" in Ambassador to Laos Antonio Cabangon-Chua's life has accused him of physically and emotionally abusing her and their four children for years.
Catherine B. Songco, 41, yesterday asked the Quezon City Regional Trial Court to issue a permanent protection order against the ambassador, who has allegedly been threatening her through phone calls and text messages.
A permanent protection order would bar Chua from going near Songco and threatening her.
"I am a battered and brutalized 'wife' of a business tycoon and member of the Philippine diplomatic service. The word wife is quoted because I am really the other woman," Songco admitted.
She said Chua had accused her of having liaisons with other men and told her to leave the country if she wanted to marry someone else.
