Audi Korea, a sales arm of German carmaker Audi AG, said yesterday that it has appointed Son Eul-rae, a former head of the Korea Automotive Importers & Dealers Association, as the company's first chairman.

Son, 59, will focus on corporate branding and take charge of developing dealer relationships and providing management support for Audi Korea, which is set to be launched on Oct. 1, according to the company.

So far, Audi cars have been sold in Korea through an importer.
