A Late night party in a north Sutherland village had a violent aftermath which left one man requiring hospital treatment after being beaten up.

The trouble flared as Gary Burnett and Alexander Cunningham were being driven back from the get-together in Strathy on October 6 last year, Wick Sheriff Court heard yesterday.

As Burnett was let out of the car in Scrabster to board his fishing boat, he lashed out at Mr Cunningham.

Fiscal Gary Aitken said Mr Cunningham was knocked to the ground where Burnett proceeded to sit astride him, pinning his arms to his sides.
