NORTHERN Ireland is in the top 20 league of areas in the UK where first class letters are delivered on time, according to figures released by Royal Mail.

In the year to March, 92.7 per cent of first class mail was delivered the next day, ahead of the national average of 90.1 per cent.

This was achieved against a target of 92.5 per cent, making the Province one of the top performing regions in the UK out of a total of 121 postal areas.
