Mainpuri, May 24 (PTI) Samajwadi party president and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday said he would be resigning from his parliamentary seat to continue as the chief minister of the state.

"Under the present circumstances, I am resigning from the Lok Sabha (Lower House) and would continue to serve the state as Chief Minister", Yadav said addressing a public meeting at Kuravali in Mainpuri, his Lok Sabha constituency.

Yadav held five public meetings in Mainpuri to assess the mood of his voters and take their views on this count.
