The consequence of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing does not necessarily tie the hands of creditors, forcing them to stand on the side lines, waiting and hoping for something to happen. Instead, creditors may wish to be more proactive and perhaps the best way to do so is to serve on the creditors' committee, which acts as the representative of unsecured creditors as a whole in the bankruptcy cast.
Why participate?
