Flexible Packaging editors sat down with Jacob Aharon, President and CEO of PlastiSoft Corp., for a frank discussion about what today's enterprise system software can do to make converters more efficient and profitable.

Q: Give me a quick history of PlastiSoft.

A: PlastiSoft was formed about 10 years ago for the sole purpose of developing enterprise system software. In 1995 we were contracted by a very large extruder and bagmaker here in Canada to develop an entire enterprise system specifically for them. Since then what PlastiSoft has done is create other software products for the plastics industry, hence our name.

Q: What kind of software products do you offer to converters of flexible packaging, and what do these products do?

A: Our flagship product, which is called Tori-Flex, is a unique product in that it is designed from the ground up specifically to facilitate the efficient manufacture of plastic flexible packaging. And it does everything that an enterprise system should do--everything from quotation, price estimates, manufacturing work …
