Lack of maintenance culture has been largely responsible for the decay of physical infrastructure in Nigeria. Rather than imbibe the culture of maintenance to prolong the life span of buildings and infrastructural facilities, Nigerians believe in 'replacement syndrome' which is rather costly.
In spite of the ugly scenario, efforts aimed at making the governments and individuals cultivate the culture of maintenance have continued unabated.
