Monrovia, Liberia (PANA) - The Governor of Liberian Central Bank, Elie Saleeby resigned Tuesday "with immediate effect" amid a row between the parliament and the Bank over the printing of some money.

A statement by the State House did not give details but said interim President Gyude Bryant has accepted Saleeby's resignation.

Saleeby, a former IMF staff, and who served as Central Bank governor under now exiled former Liberian President Charles Taylor regime, has been under severe pressure from parliament since the power-sharing government took office last October.
