TSN: The players are always happy to see you.
PP: They're happy to see what I bring. They're stuck with me. I'd be lying if I didn't say I wish someone else was bringing me the Cup. But it is pretty special to be part of that--to watch one of the players go up to his first coach's house and knock on the door and say, 'I'd love to get a photo with you.' It's pretty powerful, pretty emotional, pretty amazing moments that happen in a guy's 24 hours that he gets the Cup. It's all worth it at that moment.
TSN: When are the players' names inscribed?
PP: That usually happens around training camp, in September. It takes about eight to 10 days, only because each letter gets hand-engraved. It's not a computerized engraving that happens; each one gets hand-stamped. Because the summers are so short now in hockey, there's no way it could be engraved first and then get the players to see it. They'd run out of time because the next season starts. They ...
