AUSTAL SECURES $US5MLN CONTRACT TO BUILD RESEARCH VESSEL

SYDNEY - Austal Ltd (ASX:ASB), an Australian ferry boat manufacturer, has secured a contract to build a research vessel for a private owner, valued at approximately $US5 million ($A7.14 million).

The 37.7 metre vessel will be built by subsidiary Image Marine and delivered to the Bahamas for the beginning of the northern hemisphere summer next year.
