GUA MUSANG, Sat. - A National Service trainee at the South Kelantan Development Authority's (Kesedar) Ethnobotany camp drowned in Sungai Taman Wangi today.
He was swimming with about 40 other trainees when the incident happened.
Gua Musang deputy police chief deputy superintendent Mat Nasir Husin said the trainee, T. Saravanan, 18, was from Taiping, Perak.
He was among the third group of trainees undergoing the NS programme at the camp.
Two other trainees, who were also swept by the strong current, were saved by their colleagues and an angler nearby.
