International green groups should accept that the controversial Three Gorges Dam is going to be built and start working to minimise its environmental impact, a mainland activist says.

Wu Dengming, president of the Green Volunteer League of Chongqing, said global environmental groups should focus their energy on preventing an ecological disaster as pollution around the massive hydroelectric project was continuing to worsen.
