Pace Airline Management has been awarded a new contract by Ukraine International Airlines. The former will act as its global general cargo sales agent after volumes and revenues in 2001 reached an all-time high for the Kiev-based carrier.

The new agreement will take the working relationship between UIA and Pace to over ten years. Ukraine International first approached Pace in 1993, shortly after the airline launched its first scheduled service between Kiev and London's Gatwick.

Vladimir Semenchenko, the airline's Cargo Director, commented: "We carried more than 2,500 tonnes of cargo in 2001, a 12% increase over the previous year and an all-time high for UIA. …
