US refining profit margins rose almost $2 last week to $11.06/bbl, the highest since last summer, according to a UBS report issued Tuesday.

"The rise in refining margins last week was sparked by a gasoline price rally after the (government) reported a lower- than-expected gasoline stock build," analyst Paul Ting wrote in the report.
