AS FAR as I know, there is no specific college level course that gives one a college degree in real estate. Most schools offer a real estate course mainly as an elective or at the most, as a short course. So it is but natural that new graduates do not directly seek a career in real estate. The real estate field varies and one just has to look at the unlimited career possibilities.
