TAIPEI, May 3 Asia Pulse - With the popularity of medical care institutions and advanced information technology, Taiwan is quite competitive in the tele-home care market, a section chief of the Industrial Technology Research Institute said Thursday.
Hsu Ming, a laboratory director of ITRI who presides over the tele-care project, noted that with the aging society and increasing segment of the population crippled by chronic disease, the ITRI saw the potential in the tele-home care market and began the research project two years ago with the sponsorship of the government, which considers it a promising industry for the future.
