DAIMLERCHRYSLER PUTS OFF DECISION ON BREAKUP WITH HYUNDAI.
SEOUL, May 3 Asia Pulse - DaimlerChrysler's announcement of its breakup with Hyundai Motor Co. (KSE:05380), slated for Monday, has been postponed to next week, Hyundai officials said Monday.
"DaimlerChrysler has delivered its decision to put off its board meeting, citing internal circumstances," said a Hyundai Motor spokesman.
"Hyundai and DaimlerChrysler are now in talks to turn their broad strategic alliance into a project-by-project cooperation.
Even without a strategic partnership with DaimlerChrysler, Hyundai will be able to attain its goal of joining the ranks of the world's top-five automakers by 2010," he said.
