DUBLIN, April 30 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
The Irish High Court awarded costs to the rock singer Dolores O'Riordan and husband Don Burton, in the failed lawsuit brought against the couple by former childminder Joy Fahy.
Mr. Justice John Quirke ruled in the couple's favour on Wednesday citing them as exemplary parents who were devoted to their child.
"We are relieved the case is finally over and we can put this behind us," said Dolores. "We have put our lives on hold for the last year. It was never an option for us to pay Joy Fahy off once she had made these dreadful allegations which called into question our role as parents. Our children are the most precious in the world and we would do anything to protect them."
Don Burton added "We would also like to extend our gratitude to our friends and family who have supported us through this very difficult time and in particular our wonderful legal team, barristers Bill Shipsey SC and Michael Howard BL and Solicitor Jim Trueick from Landwell."
Joy Fahy worked for the couple briefly in June 1997 and again in July 1999. She claimed damages for False Imprisonment, Breach of Contract and Negligence.
