SEOUL, May 3 Asia Pulse - Only three out of every 10 South Korean firms plan to increase their workforces in May and June, a survey showed Sunday.
The results indicate that the country's job market remains mired in a slump due to the delayed recovery of the economy.
According to a poll of the country's top 100 firms by sales revenue, a mere 30 percent replied they would hire new workers in May and June.
Out of the 30 companies, only 10 have finalized their employment plans for the two months, adding a mere 565 people to their payrolls.
The remaining 20 firms were fine-tuning their employment plans, found the survey conducted by Korea Recruit, a job market research agency.
