Newcomers take different routes to stardom.

JOINING a reality-based star search may be the "in" thing now. But, there are other routes that newcomers can take to enter the biz. Eighteen-year-old Bianca King, for instance, appeared in commercials for four years before going mainstream via Channel 7's teen series, "Click."
"I've been getting offers to join show biz since I was 16," the Filipino-Canadian beauty shares. "But, I didn't have confidence then. So, I joined theater groups in school."
Encouragement
She also got some encouragement from her boyfriend, young actor Patrick Garcia.
Being in rival networks doesn't pose problems for the young lovers, says Bianca. "I was offered a role in one of Channel 2's soap operas as the third party in a love story," she discloses.
