(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
Byline: Mandy Navasero
IT was almost midnight when our van reached Bauan, Batangas. We unloaded our stuff onto a waiting banca that took us on a three-minute ride to our destination.
As out boat cut through the dark waters, we felt more like spies on a mission than a family going for a weekend break at a beach resort.
Dive resorts
The place was no Marriott Hotel, but it was clean. Like most dive resorts in Batangas, the wonders of El Capitan lay outside.
The next morning, we had breakfast with the resort's owners, Capt. Ted Gonzalez and his wife, Josie-old friends since I used to work for PAL as a flight attendant.
