(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
Byline: Ramon Tulfo
BEFORE an ex-politician is appointed to an important government agency, the appointing authority should think twice-nay 20 times 20-if he deserves the position. The former politician might bring his corrupt ways to that agency.
A former Central Luzon politician was recently appointed to a government transport agency. No sooner has he warmed his seat than he started demanding 20 percent "commissions" from private firms dealing with his agency.
This politician, apparently used to getting cuts from his pork barrel projects before, didn't even spare the supplier of distilled water from his corrupt ways. Pati ang supplier ng tubig hindi pinatawad ni kolokoy.
He demands a 20 percent commission from the supplier of the distilled water on its monthly bill to the agency.
And you know how much the company is being billed by the distilled water supplier? Would you believe, P50,000 a month! That's a P10,000 cut.
