(From Philippine Daily Inquirer)
Byline: Al S. Mendoza
I HAVE received a complaint that Mia Concio, who calls herself president and chairman of NBN, is illegally occupying the position "president" of NBN.
"It is against the PTNI Charter for Ms Mia Concio to sit as president/chairman of NBN," said an NBN employee who spoke on condition of anonymity. "Republic Act No. 7306 provides that among the five members of the board, they shall elect among themselves one who shall serve as Chairman of the Board."
The writer said: "Nowhere in the Charter does it say that NBN has a position for president."
Apart from this point of view of the NBN employee, which could easily be resolved by an appropriate government agency like the Department of Labor and Employment maybe, I write about Ms Concio again because of her seeming apathy to calls that she abandon her bid to have the Athens Olympics covered by NBN.
As I keep saying here, the NBN is public property, it being a government corporation. The NBN has been in the red for years now and yet, Ms Concio, still entertains illusions she could have the NBN cover it.
