Yesterday, presidential candidates Raul Roco and Eddie Villanueva met at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati City for two hours, but the meeting, according to the Alyansa ng Pag-asa bet who had just returned from medical treatments in the US for a cancer that had recurred, "did not delve on political concerns. "
Impeccable sources at the Alyansa camp said the meeting had effectively sealed the alliance between the two camps and had gone beyond a tactical alliance for joint poll watching.
A source from Villanueva's camp, however, said they had turned down Roco's proposal for the evangelist to slide down, adding that it was Roco who had initiated the meeting yesterday after making a late evening call Thursday following a pro-Villanueva rally in Makati City.
