PRESIDENT Macapagal-Arroyo yesterday debunked the claim that a state cheating machinery was at work to ensure her victory in the May 10 elections.
"Should there be [an] attempt at cheating, it will never come from us. We are confident of victory and we will not tarnish democracy in any manner,'' the President said in a statement.
Ms Macapagal was reacting to fears expressed by three ranking Church leaders that the May 10 election would be attended by fraud. They did so during the launching of a coalition against electoral fraud, dubbed the Coalition for HOPE (honest, peaceful elections).
