- After rising past the P56-to-the-dollar level about two weeks ago, the peso on Thursday dipped back to that psychological level, in the back of corporate demand to meet month-end dollar requirements, and the weakness of neighboring Thailands currency against the dollar. At the Philippine Dealing System, the local currency on Thursday opened at P55.82, or seven centavos weaker than Wednesdays close of P55.75 to the greenback.
