KUNMING, April 01, SinoCast -- The Fifth World Potato Conference was held in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan Province on March 26.

According to the statistics, China's sown area of potato reached 4.5 million hectares in 2003 with the output of over 66.8 million tons, which ranked second in the world.
