OSLO (AFX) - Statoil ASA said it is to suspend production from its Heidrun platform in the North Sea due to bad weather, cutting daily production by 140,000 barrels of oil and 23 mln cubic metres of gas.

The latest closure is related to the same safety problems with evacuation lifeboats that saw the Statoil-operated Snorre A platform also suspend production last week.
