KUALA LUMPUR, Fri. - Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Idris Jusoh is now the Umno liaison committee chairman.

Acting Umno president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi also announced the appointment of Deputy Finance minister Tengku Putera Tengku Awang as Idris' number two.

Abdullah said the Umno supreme council had endorsed his motion to appoint Idris for the post.

"I had voiced my intention (before the general election) to relinquish the post in Terengganu to a local should the BN recapture the State," he said after chairing the council meeting at Putra World Trade Centre, adding that Idris had proven …
