JAPAN EXTENDS US$1.16 BLN ASSISTANCE TO INDIA

NEW DELHI - Japan Wednesday extended a massive assistance to India amounting to Rs 51.02 billion (US$1.16 billion) for implementation of eight projects including the Delhi Mass Rapid Transport System (DMRTS) Project.

This marks a significant 12.4 per cent increase over the previous year's aggregate of the soft loan financial assistance extended by Japanese government through the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC)
