ADELAIDE, April 1 Asia Pulse - Mitsubishi Australia has denied reports from Japan that the car maker is considering terminating production in Australia.
A report in Japan's Asahi Shimbun newspaper said the company also planned to sell its facilities in Australia, an engine plant and a vehicle assembly operation in Adelaide.
But Mitsubishi Australia spokesman Charles Iles said the report was just further speculation on what might be included in a business plan to be issued by the parent group in April.
Mr Iles said Mitsubishi Australia was continuing with its billion investment program in Adelaide towards the release of an all-new model next year.
"As far as we are concerned nothing has changed," he said.
"This is another speculative story and there will be more of them ahead of the release of the business plan.
"We don't comment on speculation."
