Civic body fails to control gastro outbreak.

KOLKATA: Kolkata Municipal Corporation and South Dum Dum municipality are yet to control the recent outbreak of waterborne diseases like gastroenteritis, jaundice and diarrhoea.

Fresh cases are being reported from the Beliaghata ID hospital, and RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

More than 500 people from Nabadiganta, Barmanpara, Low Land and Pratichi in South Dum Dum municipality have been hit by the disease over the

past week.

The problem has assumed such a proportion that the municipality has sent an SOS to the state health department.
