The government says it will soon decide whether to extend almost one year of martial law in war-torn Aceh Province.

Home Affairs Minister Hari Sabarno, who is also acting chief security minister, on Monday (19 April) said an evaluation of the security situation in the rebellious province would be conducted within the next one to two weeks.

"We will listen to reports from the province and discuss the latest situation with the martial law authorities," he was quoted as saying by state news agency Antara. …
