The people of the North Central region may back the bid by the Igbo people of the South-East to produce the nation's president in 2007 if the pronouncement of a group, the Middle Belt Progressive Movement (MBPM), is something to rely upon.

The group led by a retired deputy inspector-general of police, Potter Dabup, said the north central region people would support Igbo people for the 2007 presidential race if the people (Igbo) are serious in their bid.
