FACT or fad, organic food is fast gaining ground in Malaysia.
Many have switched to natural food, those grown without pesticides or contain preservatives. The high incidence of chronic diseases, such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease is another reason for this switch.
In leading supermarkets in the Klang Valley, some aisles are dedicated to organic food, with imported organic brown rice, brown sugar, beans, flour and even vermicelli.
